WHAT IS SUMMER PROJECT
Imagine yourself on a life-changing six-week adventure to Greece with 15 of your soon-to-be closest friends. You will live together, work together to make friends on several campuses around Athens, travel together, pray for one another, and go out to meet your new Greek friends together. You'll learn a little Greek, visit ancient ruins and places you've read about in your Bible, and even learn a little about the history of the ancient Church. Most of all, you'll leave with a better understanding of yourself, the Lord, missions, and you may even have a few new friends to keep in touch with from home and from Greece!

STORY
Stories to come - we just finished our first Athens Summer Project!!

FURTHER TOPICS AND FAQ
When is it? For how long?
Late May through Early July [you'll be back in time for Summer II or a summer internship]

How do I decide?
Pray, asking the Lord to give you wisdom about what to do with your summer. Ask yourself what you would gain or give up to go on project.  Maybe a list of pros and cons would help.  Pray some more. Talk to friends who have been on Project and ask the Campus Crusade staff at your campus - they'll be more than willing to help you with this decision. Finally, pray.

How do I apply?
Visit our application page to complete the online application.  It's a little involved, so don't procrastinate - this isn't Economics class, this is your life. The March 15th deadline sneaks up on you.  Get that application in as soon as you get back from Christmas break, and everyone will be a lot happier.

How do I pay?
You get the opportunity to let God grow your faith as He provides for your needs first-hand through raising support for all your costs for the summer. [Don't worry, we'll give you all the information you need to do this, once you've been accepted to come.]

Ok, I'm sold. Who do I contact to talk more about this?
We would love to hear from you, check out our contact page to get information about talking with us.

You may also join our Facebook group and add us as friends.  We'll answer whatever questions you have. Within reason...

THE MINISTRY IN A NUT SHELL
Our Vision: A “revangelized” Greece , finding its future in producing spiritual leaders for Western Europe and beyond.

Our Mission: Helping to Turn the lost students of Greece into Christ-centered lifetime laborers, and enabling them to reach their country, their continent and their world.

Our Values:
1. Ministering from an Overflow (In)
2. Raising Lifetime Laborers (Out)
3. Building Lasting Movements (Org)

Our Method: Relevant Presentation of the Gospel Message, in the Power of the Holy Spirit, Authenticated by Our Changed Lives and Participation in a Transformational Community.

CURRENT MINISTRY PHILOSOPHY
1. Being Relevant — this is the main issue with students in Greece . They feel “burned” by religious tradition, and can't name any way that a relationship with God intersects with their personal life. We are inviting students into our personal walks with Christ, allowing them to hear and see how Jesus has changed our lives as we ask them to consider his teachings in the Bible.

2. Working in Community — Greeks students are incredibly relational. Everything thing they do relates to their “parea ” (small group of intimate friends). They can't be reached without knowing their friends. We are emphasizing how people grow in relationship with God while in the midst of relating to others . This allows believers and people in process to enjoy one another's company without having to feel ashamed or ignorant about what they know. It also allows us to begin the discipleship process before someone makes a personal commitment to Christ.

3. Getting to the Gospel — In building community, we have not forgotten the importance of making a personal relationship with Jesus Christ central. Jesus didn't just say, “Follow me,” but as people understood who He was, He challenged them to commit their lives to Him. We want people to be able to choose to belong to the faith, knowing that people are not merely born cultural Christians, but must respond to Christ's offer of salvation.

4. Underscoring with Compassion — As we follow Christ together, we want to demonstrate our faith to others by helping the less fortunate in this world. We have already started key partnerships with existing compassion ministries that will allow us to focus our primary resources on campus while giving us an outlet that can explain why we are compelled to help others in need.

MISSION AND VISION
A lot of time, effort and prayer has been spent on developing the mission and vision here in Greece. To see the full presentation of what the ministry's mission and vision looks like check out the ministry page.
